Mending Mindsets

GAC in partnership with the Rotaract club of Nkumba stewards embarked on a mental wellness journey to address the looming disasters associated with mental disorder. This came at a time when the world had been struck by the COVID -19 Pandemic and the need there was to pick up the broken pieces of the aftermath. The project was executed in the slum area of Kajjansi, Entebbe nick named “mu line|” hosting a population of over 10,000 people residing and doing business within. The slum is characterized by small drinking joints, small households and idle youth.

Project activities

General community clean up: GAC collected garbage that had been recklessly dumped in the area, distributed garbage bins at the selected collection points such as the market area, sensitized the community about the need for proper waste management and disposal and went as far as establishing plastic waste recycling point that would benefit the locals of the community economically.
